Principle staff help raise more than £2,500 for charity by climbing Snowdon in icy weather
Two brave staff members from Principle Estate Management climbed the cold and cloudy peaks of Snowdon to help raise more than £2,500 for a cancer patient.
Alanis Griffin, business development assistant at Principle, and Seran Fitzpatrick, a client services assistant with the firm, climbed the 3,560 foot mountain on Sunday 10 March.
Ms Griffin recalled how they had to wrap up warmly to cope with the cold winds, and had to tread carefully when they met cloudy and icy weather.
The nine-mile fundraising walk was organised to support the manager of the Foundry Gym in Chelmsley Wood, whose daughter is battling with throat cancer at the aged of just 19.
Ms Griffin said: “It was cold, it was cloudy, it was icy and it was hard work, but we were thrilled to get to the top of Snowdon!
“it was all made worthwhile by the cause we were walking for. Everyone on what was called the Steps For Hope walk is committed to supporting Lisa’s daughter through her treatment journey.
“All funds raised will directly support her medical expenses and care, ensuring she has the resources she needs to fight her cancer.”
Joe Jobson, joint managing director at Principle, explained that the company has also made a donation to the fundraising campaign.
Mr Jobson said: “What a great effort by Alanis and Seran, and what a great cause for them to have got involved with.
“We’re always proud of our staff when they make a difference to the community.”
