Principle Estate Management helps with firefighter training

The training exercise took place at Portishead Marina.

MORE than 100 firefighters flocked to a Somerset coastal town to undertake special training at a seven-storey apartment block cared for by Principle Estate Management.

The training exercises took place at Portishead Marina, which houses many residents in properties with far reaching views both of the Marina Lock gates and out to sea.

Adrian Archer, a senior property manager at Principle, explained how the exercises came as part of a package of ongoing care and support for residents whose properties will be fitted with replacement cladding and insulation.

Craig Williams, from Avon Fire & Rescue Service, continued with details about how the fully simulated event helped prepare fire fighters to handle potential emergency situations.

Not only that, but it serves the purpose of trialling new equipment and procedures using modern firefighting techniques specifically adapted to cope with newly cladded and insulated multi-storey residences.

Mr Williams said: “Thanks to the support from Principle…our operational crews [learn] to further align themselves with new National Operation Guidance from the National Fire Chiefs Council.”
