Scouting in the rain! Youth group benefits from property inspector’s efforts
He walked for miles in the rain and got soaked to the skin, but the determined efforts by a senior property inspector with Principle Estate Management helped raise £3,000 for local Scouts.
As part of Principle’s commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR), each team member has the opportunity to apply for an additional day off per year to support a charity cause of their choice.
Matthew Hill took advantage of this benefit by volunteering to help set up The 12 Parish Walk in aid of the 12 Hallie Scout Troop, near Worcester.
Mr Hill said: “I really enjoyed the day which involved marking some of the routes and preparing the Scout hut for registration and finishing.
“Despite the unfortunate weather, which left me and others soaked through, the eventual walk was a success, with distances ranging from 10 to 40 miles.
“Ultimately, the event raised an impressive £3,000 for the Scout group, and so it all felt worthwhile in the end!
“I think it’s great that Principle helps us to support charity groups, and I’m looking forward to doing something like this again next year.”
Brett Williams, the founder and joint managing director at Principle, explained that the company actively encourages its employees to take part in CSR activities.
Mr Williams added: “Our vision at Principle is to ‘positively impact the everyday lives of our communities’ and we believe it is vital to contribute to the community in which we work and live, both as a business and as individuals.”
